I stopped providing sit files after MacOS built in zip support (hmmm). I have Stuffit but will need to install it on the Mac side if I go that way - but not likely. I've been using it for, sheesh, 10-15 years now. You can't get too much more 'standardized' than WinZip on the Windows side. I might have to try this if nothing else works. Some versions of Zip files are not as standardized as you might hope and that could yield problems.+ 's Zipit for unarchiving some Zip programs. Anyway, as mentioned, no problem in MacOS 10.4.11. Don't worry, I think I know what I'm doing in this regard (been running my own server for over six years now). I'm FTPing on Windows to my Windows http/ftp server. Use RBrowser on the Mac, or Fugu for the transfer depending on whether or not you need SFTP access (Fugu supports SFTP).+ If the transfer mode was ASCII that can corrupt the FTP transfer. They can cause problems with opening documents and corrupt the cache files of the system that allow the system to know what it is managing. ![]() ![]() Stop using so-called "maintenance" applications that empty system caches. Uninstall any such software you may have.ħ. Stop using firewall software, speed download software, anti-virus and anti-spyware software that is not made by Apple. Repair permissions with Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.Ħ. Ownership to only System won't let you open the file.ĥ. Verify the ownership and permissions in File menu -> Get Info allow you to access the file by first clicking the file ONCE in the Finder and then going to the File menu -> Get Info.
